The Bavarian carmaker will advance their electrification at a fast pace with at least three electric vehicles for production. First, the brand’s first fully-electric SUV, the BMW iX3 as announced this year. Second, the iX to go into production as the second crossover and one of the most advanced BMWs ever made. And lastly, the four-door fully electric coupe i4 to pay tribute to the upcoming 4 Series Gran Coupe.

Some pre-production BMW i4 rolled off the production line at Munich last week. Wearing their camouflage, the i4 models seems ready for road testing before their final evaluations. This shows that a full-force production for the i4 has happened at the said plant.

The BMW i4 looks sporty and taller than the 4 Seris Coupe. Notably, its trunk lid looks more like a traditional sedan-style trunk than the 4 Series Gran Coupe’s lid. It seems that the i4 lost the previous-generation 4 Series’s trademarked tailgate with its shut lines on the trunk. Nevertheless, the large kidney grille on recent bimmers like the 4 Series has remained.

As expected, the BMW 3 Series, 4 Series, and i4 will roll-off in 2021. All models will come from the same production lines at the BMW Group Plant in Munich. These cars represent the promise of the BMW Group for their Power of Choice approach. BMW will offer a futuristic combustion engine, reliable plug-in hybrid, or innovative fully electric vehicles. In the coming years, BMW will provide maximum flexibility in its production.
