A crossover is a popular choice now for people purchasing a vehicle. Thanks to gas prices continuously dropping, crossovers have become a practical choice for consumers. Electric vehicles are also a big thing now. The thought of the BMW i5 mixing these two trends and creating a great vehicle for the market is actually really exciting.
Leaked patent designs leaked on the interwebs last week and they do show a crossover model. The images had tall hips and roofline, high ground clearance, and the high green house. These are renderings inspired by those.
These renderings by RemcoM looks really close to the leaked images. They followed the styling of the BMW i3 and i8 models, plus the trademark i sub-brand cues. The front kidney grilles are in a compact block with i blue accents surrounding it. The headlights and front bumper look similar to the i8’s.
For the rear, it has the same taillights and rear bumper as the i8. The green house takes after the i3 with a tall design and flowing curves on the C-Pillar.
So far, these renderings look really good and promising. Let’s hope BMW does infuse these elements in the production version of the crossover.
