The latest BMW iX refines electric mobility with enhanced performance, extended range, and an even more sophisticated design. This all-electric Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) delivers up to 701 km (435 miles) of WLTP range, setting a benchmark in efficiency. Advancements in BMW eDrive technology and precision engineering in wheel bearings and aerodynamics contribute to an 8% improvement in energy efficiency. The lineup includes the BMW iX xDrive45, xDrive60, and the high-performance iX M70 xDrive, all assembled at BMW’s state-of-the-art plant in Dingolfing.
A refreshed exterior introduces a striking front design with a redesigned BMW kidney grille, incorporating vertical and diagonal elements. The standard adaptive LED headlights now feature city lights for enhanced visibility. At the same time, the optional M Sport package adds an assertive stance with bold air intakes and sleek body-colour surfaces. New metallic finishes, including Arctic Race Blue and Frozen Pure Grey, further personalise the iX’s aesthetic. The iX M70 xDrive stands out with M-specific design elements such as an exclusive grille, black mirror caps, and 22-inch M alloy wheels.
The performance sees a significant boost across all variants. The iX xDrive45 delivers 300 kW (408 hp), reaching 100 km/h in 5.1 seconds, while the xDrive60 pushes 400 kW (544 hp), cutting acceleration to 4.6 seconds. The iX M70 xDrive, engineered for exhilarating dynamics, generates up to 485 kW (659 hp) with 1,100 Nm of torque, rocketing to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds. A refined drive system and advanced battery technology optimise efficiency, with the MAX RANGE function extending the remaining range by up to 25%.
Charging capabilities are further enhanced with improved direct current (DC) charging of up to 195 kW, allowing rapid energy replenishment. The system intelligently adapts to optimise charging speed and efficiency, while the My BMW App simplifies route planning by integrating charging stops. Additional innovations include solar-optimised home charging and an optional BMW Wallbox Plus for seamless power management. With a new chassis setup and an array of driving assistance systems, the BMW iX blends luxury, power, and intelligent design into a futuristic driving experience.
