A new BMW i3 with 94Ah battery was released a couple days ago. The car is now more convenient and fits more people due to a better driving range.
As we previously reported, the new generation of the i3 will come with a significantly upgraded battery – from 60Ah to 94Ah. What does this mean in real life? Well, the 2017 BMW i3 will have a range of about 180 km on a single charge, compared to the 130 km range of the previous model. What’s even better is that the new battery is physically the same as the old one, meaning that it can fit into the slot of older i3’s.
So, what if you have the i3 and just want a better battery pack now? If you live in Europe, you can get it for €7,000.
The 2017 i3 costs €37,350 in Germany, and you get a €4,000 environmental bonus. If you want to have an additional 2-cylinder petrol engine, you’ll have to pay €5,000 more, but for that price you will get a 300km+ driving range
