Diesel variants of BMWs continue to be very popular in Europe. In fact, one of the top sellers of BMW Europe is the 530d model. There’s just something about diesel engines that gives the drivers a perfect combination of fuel efficiency, power and price. It is hard to say no when yo can get these three in one car.
This newer version is much lighter than its predecessor. The BMW G30 530d xDrive sheds of 95 kilograms which makes it really lightweight. This makes us optimistic about the future weights of the 5 Series range.
The 530d is powered by a 2,993cc TwinPower Turbo diesel engine. It churns 265hp at 4,000rpm, along and 620Nm of torque between 2,000 and 2,500rpm. The xDrive system makes sure to optimize the available grip. It can also reach 100km/h in 5.4 sec. The consumption is only 47 mpg and C02 emissions are just 132g/km.
The M Sport package adds some character to the interior. This includes sports heated seats and a specific cover, an M Sports leather steering wheel, aluminum trim, illuminated M entry rails, and more.
The exterior is changed by the M Aerodynamic package with larger air intakes at the front, side skirt trim, a diffusor-style rear apron and an exhaust system with two rectangular tailpipes- lowered M Sport suspension and M light-alloy wheels, in either 18″ or 19″.
