The BMW 3 Series is a very important car for BMW because of its large scale success. It is a worldwide best-seller. If BMW has to choose 1 car to make right, this has to be it. In 2018, a new BMW 3 Series car will be unveiled. A prototype has just been spotted in snow action.
The seventh generation 3 Series is built under the code G20. It will be launched in 2018 but will be officially sold in 2019. BMW testing drivers and engineers are testing the car in extreme weather conditions, thus this snow action footage from Northern Europe.
The prototype is heavily camouflaged but there are hints that the headlights seem to be narrower, kidney grilles are bigger, much like the new G30 5 Series. The front overhang is still very short and the Hofmeister Kink is still there.
The G20 3 Series is build on the CLAR platform. BMW’s engine kit is currently being modernized to have an electrically driven compressor (instant torque), more powerful 48V systems and an advanced regen system that can recirculate 20 kW and more.
