It will only be a little bit over a year before the production cycle of the G01 BMW X3 begins in August 2017. It will be sold to the market in the last months of 2017 or possibly, in 2018. The arrival of the G01 BMW X3 is anticipated because it is expected to bring an updated design language that will serve as a basis for future cars in the BMW fleet. So what does BMW have in store for us? Well, here is an image of what it might look like according to OmniAuto:
Based on what has been reported so far, this image may or may not be close to what we’ll see in 2017. The new G01 X3 is expected to use the CLAR modular architecture as a base. In combining this with the use of aluminum and CFRP, the weight of the vehicle will drop to around 100 kg (221 lbs).
It will not only offer an upgraded exterior design, it will also have a more premium cabin. The vehicle will be adorned with technologies and safety features; even advanced telematics! These features make the G01 X3 a very desirable car. If it goes according to BMW’s plan, this will be another big seller for the brand.
The image above shows a revolutionary design of the X3. The front fascia is inspired by the new BMW 7 Series and will highly likely be adjusted due to pedestrian safety regulations. It does maintain the compact proportions and stocky look of the G01 X3 that makes it unique. On the rear, the car features a slightly lower roofline and a one-piece tailgate.
This will also be the first time that BMW will offer an extended wheelbase for the X3 and this will fit markets like China.
