8 Things BMW M2 Doesn’t Have But We Wish It Did

You may or may not like the new BMW M2, but it’s the fact that it is one of the most desired cars today. The fans have been waiting for it ever since the 1M came out, and now that it’s finally here it’s very close to perfect. Still, some improvements could be made. Here are some things we wish BMW M2 had in order to be even better.

BMW left this model slightly imperfect on purpose, as they still want to sell the M4. It’s a logical move from their side. While the M4 represents a luxurious car, M2 was created to be wild on the streets and untameable.

If you watched Chris Harris’ BMW M2 review we posted earlier, you may have noticed that he points out a couple of flaws it has.

  1. Non-illuminated stick shift. Doesn’t make sense as it is the same one used with the F82, which was illuminated.
  2. No Oil Temperature Gauge
  3. The E92 mirrors used on the 1M would look much cooler
  4. The carbon roof would’ve been awesome. It looks amazing and each carbon fiber detail makes the vehicle look overall better. It would also make the car lighter, improving its performance.
  5. The M buttons. What’s surprising is that the space for the buttons is there, but the buttons are not.
  6. More performance controls. While M cars usually have several performance control, such as Steering, Throttle, Suspension, and Transmission, the M2 features the standard BMW ones – Comfort, Sport, and Sport +.
  7. Side air ducts. C0mpared to the other M cars, which have the side air ducts actually serving the purpose, the ones on the M2 just sit there and don’t let the car breathe.
  8. Auto blipping is complicated to turn off if you want to keep some other features on.

Even though it lacks something here and there, BMW M2 is still a fierce car, not cheap or low-class by any means. It would’ve been nice if it had some signature M features, becasue we already have the M235i and we don’t need another one.

Whichever BMW car you choose, you will make the right decision. And becaue we’re used to high quality, it’s the little things that start to matter. Details can make a difference and make the owner feel special and important, and that’s something to keep in mind. For a $50,000 price tag, we excpected a bit more on this field.
