Australia Gets Remote Parking Feature for 2017 BMW 7 Series

The new BMW 7 Series has already unveiled its wide range of new technologies in the past months. However, not all countries have had the luxury of getting their hands on these features. BMW is adding one country at a time because there are different legal restrictions in each country. The German automaker needs to process all permits and legalities before they make these features available in certain countries like Australia. Customers there can finally purchase the most-talked about Remote Parking feature.

The government of Australia initially banned the feature to go on sale because they had a law that required a person to be on board of a car in order for it to move. This was the same case in the United States. Since the legalities have been taken care of, all customers purchasing a 7 Series after October 1, 2016 will get this feature. The new air-cleaning AC system will also be included as standard. The only exception is the 740e model since its hybrid drivetrain is not compatible with this system.

Price-wise, the lowest 7 Series price you can get in Australia is the 730d. It is sold starting at AUD217,455 or about USD167,000. It is quite expensive but it comes with a lot of things in its standard kit: Display Key, Remote Parking feature, Ambient Air, and many others. The new 265 HP 3-liter diesel engine also costs more since it has been refined to deliver an almost perfect performance.
