One of the flashiest hues from the BMW Individual catalogue is Twilight Purple. It has previously appeared on small or large BMW models. Currently, it appears on the 1 Series hatchback, one of BMW’s most affordable vehicles. Dick Lovett is now offering the new right-hand drive BMW 118i model, imported from the United Kingdom. This model is unique because it is the first 1 Series to feature the striking purple colour option. The identical Twilight Purple M135i xDrive was available as a limited edition from BMW South Korea last fall.
Known to only a select few, BMW Individual is the greatest secret at BMW. The “Karl Lagerfeld” 750iL (E32) boasts a striking two-tone paint job and a luxurious enhanced interior. It debuted in 1992, when the program’s history began. Customers can choose from hundreds of exterior colours—moreover, at least a dozen interior improvements depending on the model they like. Naturally, at a premium starting in the low thousands of dollars.
The 1 Series Individual Program is a recent development. BMW includes the current generation BMW 1 Series Hatchback and 2 Series Gran Coupe in its Individual program. Because of this, BMW has your back if Twilight Purple is too dazzling for you. Not only can you choose from timeless hues like Dakar Yellow, Imola Red, Rosso Corsa, Le Mans Blue, Daytona Violet, or Fire Orange. You can also choose from more contemporary hues like Mexico Blue, Urban Green, Zanzibar, Miami Blue, Ametrine, Verde Mantis, and Macao Blue.
Adding an expensive paint job on a relatively inexpensive colour makes the situation much more exciting. For instance, this 2023 BMW 118i SE has an MSRP of 27,825 GBP, but most individual colours cost between 3,000 and 4,000 GBP. Turbocharged gasoline engines power the 2022 BMW 1 Series hatchbacks.
A 1.5-litre turbocharged three-cylinder engine with 136 horsepower and 220 Nm of torque powers the BMW 118i vehicles. Couple the engine with a six-speed manual gearbox or a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission to drive the front wheels. The 2022 BMW 118i won’t be as powerful as its M-lite sibling, the M135i. Thus, 0 to 62 mph acceleration is estimated to take 8.9 seconds. Instead, fuel efficiency is good, at about 5.9L/100km.
Of course, the Individual program offers more than just unique paint colours because it allows for more interior customization than the typical online configurator allows. Deep-pocketed buyers have a wide selection of accessories, including leather seat upholstery, Alcantara headliners, unique wheel designs, and a fridge. Additionally, the BMW Individual Manufaktur program allows for special requests to be made to build genuinely one-of-a-kind automobiles with Rolls-Royce levels of exclusivity.
