The BMW M135 has received a fresh design and powertrain upgrades, making it a strong contender in the hot hatch segment. While BMW’s M division is known for its rear-wheel-drive performance cars, the M135 embraces a front-biased all-wheel-drive setup that still delivers excitement. The latest model, now designated F70, refines its styling and performance, offering an engaging yet composed driving experience. BMW has removed the traditional rotary iDrive controller, opting for a touchscreen-based interface complemented by voice controls. The M Sport seats provide firm support, and premium materials elevate the interior feel. The 380-litre boot offers practical storage space, making the M135 as versatile as it is thrilling to drive.
Safety remains a priority, with the latest 1 Series inheriting its predecessor’s five-star Euro NCAP rating.
