BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe named “Most Beautiful Car of the Year”

The new BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe has been awarded the accolade of “Most Beautiful Car of the Year” at the 2020 edition of the Festival Automobile International exhibition, held in Paris between January 29th and February 2nd. The results were announced after online ballots on the official website of the Festival Automobile International were counted where the public chose the new compact Gran Coupe from Munich to receive the coveted title. The public got a chance to vote from 6 December 2019 to 19 January 2020.

Other contenders for the title were the new Mercedes-Benz CLA Coupe, the Land Rover Defender, the Ford Puma, the Peugeot e-208, and the Mazda 3. After this first round of votes, the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe was in the finals with the Mazda 3.

Thanks to clever design work, the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe is able to show proportions of cars bigger than its class even if it is compact-sized model. It has a strong front end with a broadly connected kidney grille and the polygonal LED headlights which deeply evoke the traditional four-eyed architecture – plus a honeycomb pattern of the grille that adds further depth to the kidneys. It also has a harmoniously flowing roofline and elongating rear lights at the rear.
