2022 BMW 2 Series Spied with Classic BMW Design Elements

The upcoming 2 Series Coupe would be the next big BMW for enthusiasts. It is a two-door, rear-wheel-drive, possibly a straight-six BMW. It’s also alleged to be the last of its kind. In addition, the lineup will most likely bring back some of the classic Bavarian looks if these spy photos push through.

Based on these photos, the 2022 BMW 2 Series will wear the familiar semi-large kidney grilles. They look far more elegant than those found on 4 Series models. Actually, they kind of take a resemblance to the current BMW Z4, while the headlights looked inspired by the E60 5 Series their design from the fender side.

Its silhouette is definitely a classic BMW. A low car with a relatively tall roof and upright windows is a signature BMW design element. Such a design gives excellent outward visibility, and it’s hard to drive if you can’t see, right?

Interestingly, the car in question actually has trapezoidal exhausts, giving the idea that it may be an M Performance model. However, it doesn’t have the funky M Performance style grille. It doesn’t have the odd honeycomb-like pattern, either, similar to the BMW M340i, Z4 M40i, and M440i. Instead, it wears the traditional vertical grille slats.

We all know we want it to receive a proper Hofmeister kink, but we’re not really sure about it yet. But due to the complaints of the fans before, we can imagine BMW bringing it back. With that, it looks like the 2022 BMW 2 Series will use a classic BMW recipe, both under its skin and its design.
