The end for BMW MPV Saga is a far-fetched reality. The consequent sales proved us wrong many fans were outraged when BMW launched their first minivan. In effect, the 2 Series Active Tourer proved to be a success for BMW. According to the German car maker, over 70 percent of the people who are new to the BMW brand bought the Active Tourer, which means this car could pave the way for more people to get in the BMW universe.
Although the 5-seater got an immense support, the same can’t be said about the 7-seat version, the 2 Series Gran Tourer, which was canceled. Come 2020 and finally in the works is the new model of 2 Series Active Tourer which promises to keep this segment alive.
During the undergoing tests recently in Germany, the upcoming model was spied. Even though this is a really early prototype, it already features some very interesting details as it was shown in the video below.
Based on what we can see, it looks like the kidney grilles will be growing in size. They seem to have grown quite a bit if judging only from the shown video. Don’t worry though, things can change a lot by the time this model actually comes out and what we have now is clearly just its rough prototype.
A few changes will also be brought about to the car’s interior. Like what we’ve seen recently, the first car to get a new interior design featuring different kind of infotainment system might be the 2 Series Active Tourer.
The new design apparently brings an eerie similarity to the set up used by the Mercedes-Benz and it is a welcome addition to the range, that was getting fairly old. Once this car comes out, we could get a new sound system from Sonos and a few other interesting tricks.
