The Car&Driver started giving the awards for 10 best cars in the year back in 1983. That’s 34 editions total, and out of 34 years, BMW 3 Series was featured in the Top 10 23 times.
There’s only one car that did better than our 3er: Honda Accord (31 wins). The 3 Series holds a record for the longest continuous win streak from 1992 to 2914. This means that every update BMW has made for the line has been better than the previous one, which was recognized by the award giver.
However, in the last couple of years, this series started to change its appearance so the 2 Series got the opportunity to shine. No need to tell you how that went; we all know that the M2 line is featured in the latest Top 10!
