The paint colour selection offered by BMW Individual is now more remarkable than ever. For numerous models, BMW has increased its colour palette over time; for the 3 Series, there are literally hundreds of exterior colours available. Customers’ choices, however, never cease to astound us. Consider this 2023 BMW M340i from the UK, which has a distinctive blue hue called Gentian Blue (also known as Enzian Blue and with colour code W37).
On BMW vehicles, we’ve seen a lot of blue colours, but Gentian Blue is undoubtedly unique. It gives the athletic lines of the BMW M340i an electrifying colour and falls between Santorini Blue and Voodoo Blue. As for the M Performance model, this M340i Facelift has the Shadow Line extended option with distinctive dark highlights. A mesh kidney grille, black tailpipes, tinted windows, and a blacked-out trim is also added.
The M340i comes with 19-inch double-spoke 792 M bi-colour light alloy wheels with M Sport Brakes and red callipers. The M Sport Package is included with this BMW M340i for more aggressive styling. The adaptive LED headlights with blue highlights are standard equipment on the BMW M340i Facelift M Performance model. The new 3 Series no longer has separate fog lights since they are visible in the main headlights, simplifying the lighting design.
The former, smaller air intakes are replaced by substantially larger ones beneath the new mesh grille and headlamps. The most room for improvement here is likely. Instead of being black as before, the M Sport Package’s massive air intakes are painted the same colour as the car’s body. A hexagonal air intake with air curtains on either side was then added to the front fascia. The bumper includes a meaner diffuser and a sizable glossy black section with vertical reflectors at the back, where the taillights have practically not changed.
Of course, the engine also had a minor change for 2023. The B58 engine, the workhorse of BMW, was improved. A mild hybrid system gives the 2023 BMW M340i a temporary 11-horsepower increase. The 3.0-litre inline-six engine continues to produce 374 hp and 500 Newton meters (369 pound-feet) of torque. The sedan’s acceleration from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) takes 4.4 seconds.
