The Munich Plant has begun the production of the new BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe. With a gradual global rollout, the second-generation four-door coupe will soon reach customers by November 2021. The Munich Plant shows off the 2021 4 Series Gran Coupe in San Remo Green paint and 420d xDrive trim. It is also the same colour scheme as the new BMW 4 Series Convertible.
With its aggressive body style and sporty design characteristics, the top-of-the-line M440i Gran Coupe is painted in Aventurine Red. It also retains the most divisive design element in BMW history – the 4 Series kidney grille. A stunning roofline further enhances a sleek and dynamic design. Looking better than the coupe’s standard pull handles, this high-end bimmer also gets the i4’s flush door handles. The hatchback trunk has a lot of cargo space and is very functional.
A 3.0-litre turbocharged I6 engine is powering the M440i Gran Coupe, which produces 382 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. With a 48-volt starter-generator, its engine is a mild hybrid. It functions as a small electric motor and can provide an electric boost of 11 horsepower to the engine. While sharpening its response off the line or at low rpm, this will also boost the engine’s efficiency and power.
With a conventional eight-speed automatic transmission, the M440i uses an xDrive all-wheel-drive system exclusively. BMW claims the M440i Gran Coupe can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds, with a top speed of 155 mph. The M440i also comes with an electronically controlled limited-slip differential.
Underneath the hood, the BMW 420d Gran Coupe houses a 190 horsepower four-cylinder diesel engine. The 420d GC’s torque of 400 Nm will allow it to reach 100 km/h in under 7.3 seconds with a maximum speed of 235 km/h.
