[VIDEO] BMW M440i Gran Coupe Competes in CarWow’s Drag Race

Surprisingly, the BMW M440i Gran Coupe went up against the Audi RS5 Sportback in a drag race hosted by the guys at CarWow. Mat certainly knows that these cars are not direct rivals. As he knows that the M440i Gran Coupe S is not in that league. However, the RS Sportback has no real competition in the BMW line-up. Considering that BMW will not be producing an M4 version of the Gran Coupe.

Although their specifications are very different, both cars have the same body style. Both cars will have a fair comparison because the BMW M440i Gran Coupe and Audi RS5 are four-door coupes. In this race, it is clear that the RS5 is the favourite because there are many differences in the engine. The BMW M440i Gran Coupe is an M performance car, not a true M, while the Audi is an actual RS model. In fact, it can produce 450 hp and 600 Nm of torque by the RS5’s 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6.

Meanwhile, the BMW offers significantly less than the Audi. Compared to the Audi, the inline six-cylinder engine of the M440i Gran Coupe produces only 374 hp and 500 Nm of torque. At 382 horsepower, that’s even less than the US models. Furthermore, the RS5 appears to be almost 200 kg lighter than the M440i. While the BMW weighs 1,900 kilos, the Audi tips the scales at 1,720 kilos.

Both cars have an 8-speed automatic gearbox and an all-wheel-drive as well. Mat has chosen the BMW, which has aroused the curiosity of many car enthusiasts. Although the chances of BMW winning any race are slim, Matt still chose the BMW. Unfortunately, there are no wins for the BMW BMW M440i Gran Coupe in this video. Although the BMW was not too far behind, unless Mat did some tweaking, it did not take any of the wins. Watch the video and you’ll find out all about it.
