[VIDEO] Meet the 2024 BMW 520i in this 5 Series Video Tour

The 5 Series G60, mainly shown as an i5, prioritizes electric variants. This mirrors the 2023 auto industry trend. Few of the 200+ official BMW photos feature the luxury sedan as a combustion engine model. Even so, the 530e model is a significant plug-in hybrid.

Opting for a unique approach, BMW Romania showcased the 520i model. This car sports a traditional 2.0-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine, enhanced by a mild hybrid system. Nestled in the trunk, it includes a 48V battery and the typical 12V unit. A new video walkaround clarifies this foundational 5 Series model, although it’s not the most economical choice.

Although lacking the M Sport Package found on the i5s, this model draws attention with optional 20-inch wheels and eye-catching Tanzanite Blue metallic paint. Glossy accents replace the black trim on the eDrive40 and M60, adding a touch of elegance. Gradually, we’re warming to the novelty of the illuminated kidney grille contour. Inside the 520i, the Silverstone/Atlas Grey Merino leather upholstery presents a stylish contrast. For the base upholstery, BMW steps towards sustainability, choosing Veganza over traditional leather.

If you seek more versatility, plan for the 5 Series Touring’s release early in 2024 or later that year. This model will also embrace the i5 upgrade. Keep an eye out for a thrilling M5 Touring variant set to hit the roads in 2025.
