At 2017 Chicago Auto Show, we saw a great lineup from the Bavarians. However, there is this one vehicle that represents perhaps the best buy of the new 5 Series – the 2018 BMW 530e. What’s so special about it?

First of all, this is a 5 Series plug-in hybrid. A proper business sedan for a successful owner that’s also environment-friendly.

Let’s talk power. With a 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo 4-cylinder engine it provides 248 HP and 310 lb-ft of toque. It needs 6.0 seconds to go from 0 to 100 km/h (5.8 seconds for the xDrive version).

The battery will take you 45 km on a single charge. The NEDC testing cycle showed that a combined fuel consumption figure is around 2 l/100 km.

The starting price for the BMW 530e iPerformance Sedan will be $51,400 and for the xDrive $53,700. Add $995 for Destination and Handling.
