[Spy Video] 2018 BMW 6 Series GT Snow Testing

BMW engineers and test drivers have been spotted snow testing the 2018 BMW 6 Series GT in Northern Europe. This prototype is in the process of replacing the 5 Series GT which will be marketed and sold under the 6 Series Gran Turismo badge. Check out the spy video below where some of the design cues are visible:

This iteration is expected to be a better looking that its predecessor. The roofline is more sweeping and it matches the more hatchback-like trunk. It will retain the split-opening hatch and the upright look which allows for additional storage space. The rear end is designed in a very clean manner and overall, the design of the car shows balance.

The usual BMW diesel and petrol engines will be offered, just like the G30 5 Series sedan. For diesel power, there will be a BMW 620d, 630d and top-of-the-line M650d xDrive, the latter using BMW’s newest B57 quad-turbo engine. For petrol power, you can choose from the BMW 630i, 640i and M650i xDrive. The latter will get the same 4.4 liter twin-turbocharged V8 as the new G30 BMW M550i xDrive. At least one hybrid will be offered as well, under the iPerformance brand.

For now, enjoy seeing the car in snow testing!
