BMW i7 M60: Proposed Name for a New Next-Gen 7 Series Model

The 7 Series in 2022

In 2022, there will be a revival of the most anticipated champion- the BMW 7 Series. The first-generation 7 Series electric model was among the already-sighted leading prototypes on the road. Not only will it highlight standardized powerplants, full-electric selections, and hybrid ones, but the new-fashioned 7 Series also will also be completely different from what we have been familiar with.

For instance, the chief prototype will not be powered by a V12 or V8 engine, or even a V16 one. The BMW did this for the first time in the 7 Series’ history. As an alternative, an all-electric drivetrain will be used for a 7-Series centerpiece model. The BMW i7 M60, as claimed by sources, will be temporary. Moreover, this has also been considered as the potential settled name for the said prototype.

Engine Performance of the new i7 M60

BMW presses on having a new state-of-the-art sedan after phasing out its V12 engine. Therefore, they will have to count on the new architecture of its fifth-generation eDrive for them to efficiently and reliably generate at least 600 horsepower. Moreover, the new i7 M60 will carry at least 650 hp and will feature not less than two electric motors.

The newest battery technology, available from the BMW, will be used for every electrified car. Also, batteries that can carry up to 120 kWh will be provided for the BEV Series models. This will then enable the chief 7 Series electric model to travel at least 640 km (400 miles) on a single charge

Earlier in 2018, an “ultra-fast” charging station was conjointly created by Porsche and BMW. With a capacity to rev up a battery with a 62-mile charge in under 3 minutes, or a full charge after 15 minutes, the “ultra-fast” charging station can provide 450kW.

It can be reasonable to think that the greatest and newest tech will be the option for BMW even though the details around the charging capabilities of the new i7 are still lacking. With a certainty of its performance, the BMW iNEXT is definitely in the cards.
