Next BMW 7 Series G70 models will reportedly have 500-650 hp

So far, only the all-electric i7 has been revealed, although BMW has been announcing its flagship for some time. There are plenty to choose from if you are looking for a full-size sedan with an internal combustion engine. Auto Motor und Sport, a respected German newspaper, claimed to know the oily parts of the Luxobarge. According to the report, all BMW 7 Series G70 reduce fuel consumption and pollutant emissions thanks to their mild hybrid equipment.

The next 7 Series will be no less powerful, even if the M760i Final V12 is the last car with a 12-cylinder engine. According to AMS, a 760i with 635 hp from a twin-turbo 4.4-litre V8 will be available. The production-ready XM plug-in could also equip the speculated S68.

According to AMS, a lower-tuned version of the same engine with 545 hp will be available for the 750i. The base 735i claimed to produce 275 hp, while the 7 Series G70 740i produces 375 hp. They equipped the two less powerful models with inline six-cylinder engines, like the 745e plug-in hybrid, expected to produce around 400 hp.

BMW has confirmed that the 7 Series G70 will be available with oil-burning engines, although there’s no word about diesel. Recently, BMW announced a new family of diesel and petrol engines. Logic dictates that these drives will likely start with the 7 Series before being extended to other models in subsequent years. According to reports, the next 7 Series G70 cars will have 500 to 650 hp.

In addition to the typical standard models and long-wheelbase models, the portfolio could still expand. Around 2026, many believed the 8 Series Gran Coupé to join the 7 Series family as a sleeker sedan. If this is correct, it will happen with the mid-cycle facelift of the 7 Series G70.
