2023 ALPINA B8 Gran Coupe Unveiled with Slight Revisions

Last week, BMW revamped the entire 8 Series family, so it’s no surprise that Alpina is also presenting its slightly revised B8 Gran Coupe. To give the Gran Tourer a special character, the first changes take place at the front, where the redesigned grille is illuminated. The styling changes are similar to the LCI for the four-door 8 Series and just what you would expect.

The boot lid’s spoiler lip immediately tells that this is the Alpina version and not a “normal” BMW 8 Series. In addition, the black diffuser and the timeless 21-inch forged wheels make the B8 Gran Coupe stand out even more. Behind the 20-spoke wheels are blue Brembo callipers with 395 mm front discs and 398 mm discs at the rear.

B8 Gran Coupe owners can choose other colours besides the Alpina-exclusive Blue Metallic and Green Metallic. From Portimao Blue, Skyscraper Grey, Sanremo Green, Frozen Pure Grey or Frozen Tanzanite Blue, just about anything is available. If you use the BMW Individual catalogue for special paints, you can choose from a wide range of colours.

The B8 Gran Coupe has a beautifully handcrafted leather interior with illuminated door sills and a crystal glass iDrive controller. For added uniqueness, the choice of revisions adds a gloss walnut interior and untreated Lavalina leather.

Moreover, the classic 4.4-litre twin-turbocharged V8 makes 621 hp and 800 Nm of torque. According to Alpina, it takes 3.4 seconds to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) and 11.6 seconds to reach 200 km/h (124 mph). It had a top speed of 201 miles per hour (324 kilometres per hour). They explicitly tuned B8 Gran Coupe with the ZF eight-speed automatic transmission and its behaviour varies depending on the driving mode.

The recently revealed Alpina B8 Gran Coupe is now available to order in Europe in its slightly revised form.
