Spy shots of a BMW 8 Series surfaced in the web a few days ago. There were doubts if it was really the 8 Series because it can also be the next generation 6 Series. Regardless of the actual car behind the camouflage, it showed early signs of being stunning. Car and Driver publishes a report today that the upcoming BMW 8 Series is officially confirmed.
If the BMW 8 Series is really officially confirmed, then it will definitely bring back high-end gran touring in Bavaria. It will directly compete with the Mercedes-Benz S Class Coupe and Cabriolet, something that the 6 Series could not do because of its smaller size. The 8 Series will be a bigger and more luxurious car that the BMW line up really needs right now.
The 8 Series will be the longest car in BMW’s family if it goes to fruition. It will need to have higher-end engines, more luxurious in a modern way, and will have even better technologies. Just describing what it could be like is already very exciting!
