Video: BMW E30 is a Spiritual Successor

Before the BMW M3 even came to life, there was the BMW E30 318is. Some people may actually consider this car as the old baby M3 and that it is a spiritual successor. “In my case, when I started looking for BMWs, I gravitated toward the 1991…the 1991 coupé is the last coupé they made in the E30…” says Delia Wolfe. “The 318IS is the ‘baby’ M3; it doesn’t put out as much horsepower or torque…but it was the spiritual successor, if you will, to the 2002.”

The BMW 318is was a great car even then. This video shows Delia Wolfe driving the car and the fact that it survived that long and still working, proves that German engineering was so different then and now.

In the performance point review, the car kept intact. The car is powered by an original M42 4-cylinder 1.8-liter that came with the car, delivering 130 horsepower. It is also produces 129 lb-ft (175 Nm) of torque and it performing really well.
