Matt Farah of the Smoking Tire drives a second BMW car for this week: a 2008 BMW E92 M3 Coupe. The car used for this one take video review has been slightly modified. That being said, it is a bit faster and louder than the standard one. It is also more track focused and fun to drive. Check out how it performs on this video below:
The Smoking Tire is thankful that the BMW E92 M3 is finally affordable enough to compete with other basic commuter vehicles. This is one of the reasons why they chose to drive a mostly stock one. The car used in the video above is a manual-transmission and has underdrive pulleys, exhaust, a set of StopTech brakes that’s enough to make the owner happy. The car was used for daily driving and not on the track.
In the video, it is easy to notice that the E92 M3 still looks amazing even after all these years. The interior is simple yet classy and attractive. It is also very ergonomic and makes for a great daily car. Overall, it is still a very desirable car.
The car is powered by a S65 engine, one of the best that BMW has ever made, that revs out to its 8,450 rpm redline and makes an unbelievable noise doing so. The sound of the new S55 engine in the brand-new F80 M3 is good but doesn’t compare to how this one sounds. Farah praised the engine consistently in the video.
The verdict? The Smoking Tire says that the E92 M3 is a great enthusiast’s car for its current price, it is definitely a good buy.
