All media embargoes on drive evaluations of the BMW iX were removed today, making it a big day for the electric vehicle. Some have already tested the iX a few weeks ago and have already shared their impressions. So far, the reviews have been overwhelmingly good. For the most part, the iX seems to be an excellent driver’s car, with many drivers giving it high marks for its cabin. This is despite its quirky appearance.
Style, on the other hand, remains crucial. It’s what sells vehicles, and buyers who pay as much as the iX want their car to look pretty decent. For a better look at the Bavarian’s first bespoke electric vehicle since the i3, these new featured photos present the iX in two distinct colours.
The design of the iX has generated strong feelings of either support or opposition. While it features narrow headlights and taillights, flat door handles, and sleek lines, it also has an oversized fake grille and flashy wheels. In this first set of photos, we have the Alpine White colour, which makes the EV looking more minimalist and simple. Overall, I don’t believe it’s particularly awful; in fact, there are some interesting angles to be found.
It appears that darker hues, such as Sophisto Grey, look better on the iX. Alpine White is excellent in appearance, but it’s a little dull in execution. In the gallery below, it shows how the darker scheme seems to offset the prominent grilles.
Inside the cabin, the iX’s refinement is flawless. Everything about it screams luxury – it’s spacious, light, and oozing with opulence. It also comes packed with advanced technologies, such as the all-new iDrive8 infotainment system. There’s also the electrochromic sunroof that can go from opaque to transparent at the touch of a button. When it comes to interior space and quality, this new EV has it all. Everything about it is incredible.
