We first spotted the Zandvoort Blue BMW M2, adorned with M Performance Parts, at Auto Shanghai 2023 in April. A similar sports coupe has made its European debut at the M Festival in Poland. Held annually at the Silesia Ring, this exclusive G87 build, decked out in most MPP, was a highlight.
Unlike its Chinese counterpart, this premium M2 maintains the standard layout with centre-mounted exhausts. Aside from different wheels and side graphics, the two are nearly twins, boasting every carbon fibre accessory possible. A subtle change is the roof edge spoiler, complementing the powerful aero element on the trunk lid.
The car might seem overly aggressive, but the beauty of M Performance Parts is their availability from BMW. Hence, you only need to buy the parts you like, not the entire package. For example, while the side scuffs near the wheels aren’t our favourite, we like the twin spoilers at the back.
We eagerly await the M2 CS, a limited-edition model due in 2025. It’s intriguing to ponder which of these extras the M2 CS will feature as standard. It won’t just be looks, as the hotter variant will sport an enhanced S58 engine. While the standard twin-turbo inline-six delivers 453 horsepower, we expect the CS to exceed 500 horsepower, albeit losing the manual transmission.
BMW is likely to introduce more M2 colours before the CS’s debut. Although only spotted at the 2022 Essen Motor Show, the compact M could feature centre-lock forged wheels, mirroring the iconic 3.0 CSL.
