BMW M3 CS Touring Promises More Power and Precision

BMW is gearing up to introduce an even fiercer version of its high-performance wagon, the BMW M3 CS Touring. Following in the footsteps of the M3 CS sedan and M4 CS coupe, this latest addition to the lineup is expected to push the boundaries of speed and agility for long-roof enthusiasts. Teased in a brief social media clip, the prototype was spotted undergoing testing, hinting at a more track-focused machine with aggressive upgrades.

Engineers will likely apply the proven CS formula to this new model, enhancing power output while maintaining its all-wheel-drive layout and eight-speed automatic transmission. The twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre inline-six from the M3 CS sedan could carry over, delivering a punchier 405kW while retaining 650Nm of torque. The Touring variant could offer even sharper performance dynamics, with the sedan version already shaving precious tenths off acceleration times.

Beyond raw power, the M3 CS Touring is expected to feature weight-saving measures and chassis refinements. Carbon-fibre components—such as a roof, front splitter, rear diffuser, and mirror caps—could reduce overall mass while improving aerodynamics. Suspension, steering tweaks, M-tuned stability control, and track-ready tyres should make the high-performance wagon more precise and responsive in demanding conditions.

Rumours suggest BMW is targeting a Nürburgring record for production wagons, aiming to surpass the current benchmark held by the standard M3 Touring. The model’s enhanced agility and reduced weight could give it the edge needed to claim the title. While BMW has yet to confirm global availability, previous limited-run M models have made their way to select markets, making it likely that the M3 CS Touring will follow suit.
