BMW M340i Touring Shows Off in a Dashing Melbourne Red

The gorgeous Smoke Topaz exterior colour and M Sport package and M Performance Parts inside are only revealed during a test drive of the F31 BMW 330i Sports Wagon. Its replacement, the G21 waggon, did not come to the United States, a decision that affected sales of the inaugural BMW M3 Touring. The G21 BMW 3 Series Touring debuted a brand-new look and thrilling new engine options, including potent four-cylinders and six-cylinder turbocharged diesel and gasoline units. And our favourite is the BMW M340i Touring. The current adaptive and sporty touring revamp brought some minor but significant design modifications. BMW’s mid-cycle refresh brought a visual shift to the kidneys, with the company choosing between a honeycomb pattern and M-style twin grille slats. When you get the M high-gloss Shadow Line, the black kidneys are a standard feature. BMW added extra visual depth to the new grille insert by including the active grille shutters behind it.

The majority of you will likely notice the new headlights first. The BMW 3 Series, before the LCI generation, was the only model in the company’s lineup to feature tiny cutouts in the bottoms of the headlights. The 3 Series now has headlights that resemble the 4 Series rather than ones with similar notches. These LED headlights also have the latest in anti-dazzle technology from the manufacturer. Under the redesigned grille and headlights are new, bigger air intakes. There’s the most work. The M Sport Package has large air intakes that match the car’s body colour, not black.

The nose is now pointed and shark-like, while the distance between the kidneys and bumper is incredibly narrow. A new diffuser in the middle of the rear bumper is one of the most noticeable changes. However, the addition of the gorgeous Melbourne Red Metallic colour pulls the whole ensemble together. I went to the BMW.de online configuration to set up our perfect BMW M340i Touring. The 19-inch Style 792 M bicolour wheels complement the Melbourne Red paint job. These wheels are finished in two complementary colours and look great with the car’s standard red callipers. The matte black details of the M high-gloss Shadow Line complement the bright red paint job. This M340i Touring looks complete with its huge exhaust pipes and muscular black diffuser. The BMW M340i Touring has BMW’s latest iDrive 8 technology, which incorporates a digital gauge display.

True sports waggons need powerful engines. The BMW M340i Touring’s B58 3.0L six-cylinder turbocharged engine is BMW’s best engine. It can send 374 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque to all four wheels. The BMW M340i Touring can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in around 4.5 seconds due to its improved grip. The BMW M340i Touring Facelift is an excellent family sports car while retaining its classic superb looks. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that BMW will eventually bring the 3 Series Wagon to the United States.
