Check out the G80 BMW M3 becomes a true CSL track car

The G80 BMW M3 project has received additional enhancements from LIGHTWEIGHT Performance in Germany. This power sedan is soon to reveal a CSL-like performance at the next Essen Motor Show. While BMW M developed the new G80 M3 as a weekend race car, Lightweight has transformed it into an everyday racer.

The project started with an aerodynamic body kit that improves the G80 M3’s performance. The rear wing is reminiscent of the F82 BMW M4 GTS and has something in common with the traditional rear spoiler design of the BMW M3 CSL. The front fascia has a new splitter and an improved power dome. As far as cooling is concerned, the M3 has two massive air intakes in the bonnet.

There are also 20 and 21-inch matte gold wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S type that measure 285 millimetres at the front and 305 millimetres at the rear. Carbon-ceramic brakes are installed behind those wheels to provide sufficient stopping power on the race track. Finally, LIGHTWEIGHT recommends a combination of smaller wheels and semi-slicks to achieve the best lap times. Lightweight worked with suspension engineers from Eibach and Bilstein to optimise the interaction with the road. In fact, there is an ongoing Eibach’s Pro Street multi-suspension development for the BMW M3 (G80) and M4 (G82).

This prototype will be on display at the Essen Motor Show. Both amateurs and professionals can customize the performance of the vehicle to their preferences and the layout of the race track. LIGHTWEIGHT has its own exhaust system and HJS downpipes as well as its chassis components. There are no road restrictions as to the mentioned components. This LIGHTWEIGHT G80 M3 Competition should still have 503 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque thanks to the German tuner. Bilster Berg provided a test video to really see the car’s capabilities.
