[Video] New BMW G80 M3 Takes on BMW M3 F80 Sibling

Fans and enthusiasts flock whenever a new high-performance model comes out, and the world makes all sorts of comparisons with it. Things would be interesting if that car is a BMW M3 as it gets compared to its older M3 sibling. Of course, that is something to be curious about, seeing how many upgrades the new version brings. In this video from DizzyRiders Media, we will get to see the new G80 BMW M3 Competition taking on its older M3 F80 sibling.

Many would expect that price increase whenever a new M car enters the market. Therefore, customers would want to make sure that they get what is worth the extra bucks. DizzyRiders Media features the G80 M3 Competition, a proper M car you can get well off. The new M3 might have been criticized for replacing the seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox and for its extra weight. However, it still does pretty well.

From the spec sheets, the old F80 M3 uses a 3.0 liter straight-six twin-turbo engine and makes 444 horsepower and 550 Nm of torque (406 lb-ft). Its power goes to the rear wheels via an automatic or a manual gearbox. Drivers can easily lit up the tires of their F80 M3 with a seven-speed DCT model. That is quite impossible to happen in the new M3.

Moreover, the new G80 M3 Competition uses a similar 3.0-liter straight-six engine, only with greater power than the F80. It packs a crunchy 503 horsepower with 476 lb-ft of torque. The first cars that came do not have the all-wheel-drive setup, similar to that of the M3 featured in this video. Results are indeed impressive as the new M3 showcases an improved launch control system.

Taking both the cars head-to-head and launching it is pretty impressive. Taking into account that the newer M3 has more power, many will expect that it will have more trouble from a standstill. However, that is not the case. The new BMW G80 M3 aces every time. And, the arrival of the all-wheel-drive units is something to look out for.
