BMW M4 CSL Looks More Aggressive in Sapphire Black

Every official photo of the BMW M4 CSL shows the aggressive coupe in Frozen Brooklyn Grey metallic paint. Images of the actual car at the 2022 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este show a different color. Here, the BMW M4 CSL looks more aggressive in Sapphire Black.

It may surprise some fans that the track-focused car also has other free paint options. The Sapphire Black metallic is one of these no-cost options. Also, customers can choose Alpine White as a “free” paint option as well.

Are you wondering how the M4 CSL looks in all of its Sapphire Black metal? These photos will show you that.  The mean-looking coupe made an appearance at a recent BMW Club Munich event. It arrived with its exposed carbon fiber surfaces and striking red accents. It also wore Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires.

Significantly, only 150 cars are available for the local market as the event took place in Germany. And despite the eye-watering starting price, all of them have already been spoken.

Beauty is subjective. Thus, it would be unfair to state that the car looks better in black or in white. But we can agree that the BMW M4 CSL looks more aggressive in black. Also, the Sapphire Black metallic paint complements the carbon fiber components perfectly. Nevertheless, the Frozen Brooklyn Grey is still a stunner.

BMW only released 1,000 M4 CSL worldwide. Indeed, it will be interesting to see how many people prefer black or white over grey. Who knows, maybe in 20 years, the Sapphire Black and Alpine White may become more valuable. This is because we think these options will become rarer.

Speaking of black paints, it seems the M3 Touring will debut in an Individual Frozen Black metallic finish. We will find out next week at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
