BMW reserved 15 M4 CSL for the M Fest 2022 last weekend in South Africa. This two-day M Festival at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit in Johannesburg drew 25,000 attendees. Popular exhibits include the M4 CSL, M2 G87 coupe, and XM plug-in hybrid SUV. Adrian van Hooydonk, BMW Group Vice President of Design, presents the i7’s aesthetic.
Since its debut in May at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, BMW has virtually exclusively showcased the M4 CSL in Frozen Brooklyn Grey metallic. However, introducing an Alpine White sample shook things up at M Fest 2022. The Competition Sport Lightweight is also available in a sleek Sapphire Black for those looking for an alternative.
BMW didn’t have to promote the car, as all 15 units (out of 1,000) have already been purchased. The M Fest pop-up showroom sold over 100 cars over the weekend. 17,800 driving experiences and 8,500 hot laps at Kyalami racetrack were also offered. The M4 CSL was unveiled by BMW UK earlier this month. The third-generation CSL (a fourth generation arrives next month) is the fastest production BMW around the Nürburgring at 7 minutes and 20.207 seconds.
Frank van Meel, CEO of BMW M, was there to show off the latest toys to the fans at M Fest. Speaking of which, the M2 and XM sales will launch in South Africa during the second quarter of 2023.
