One of the most logical comparisons to make is the BMW M4 Competition and the Audi RS5 Coupe. These two have already gone head-to-head, and we have seen that both cars are pretty impressive. Both the M4 Competition and the RS5 are two-door coupes. They both have similarly sized twin-turbocharged six-cylinder engines and eight-speed automatic gearboxes. While looking at the two cars, the BMW M4 Competition has an advantage in terms of power. However, the RS5 copes up for that with a grip advantage. Joe Achilles releases a new video of the BMW M4 Competition and the Audi RS5 Coupe in a drag race. Which car is faster in a straight-line drag race? Check out this video for more details.
Both cars are similar on paper but with each having its advantages. The Audi RS5 Coupe uses a 2.9 liter twin-turbo V6 making 444 horsepower in the same eight-speed auto gearbox. It is also in Quattro all-wheel-drive, reaching 60 mph in under four seconds. Moreover, the M4 Competition uses a 3.0 liter twin-turbo I6 with 503 horsepower and an eight-speed auto gearbox. It is also in the rear-wheel-drive. The RS5 seen in this video has a tire disadvantage as it was just a second hand. Achilles puts them side by side to find out which is the quickest.
Joe puts both the M4 Competition and the RS5 through a small handling circuit to find out which is quicker and better to drive. He tests both on a drag strip in three runs to see which one is faster in a straight line. It is a bit surprising to see the results in both tests. The Audi RS5 has more traction and pretty good to drive. While the BMW M4 is more powerful and a more driver-focused car than the RS5.
