BMW Showcases the BMW X3 M40i And X4 M40i Frozen Edition

As a global luxury supplier, BMW addresses a broad spectrum of customers with special editions. The X3 M40i and the X4 M40i debuted in Australia and the custom Frozen Deep Grey Metallic is the colour of choice for the limited edition performance crossover. They add the M Shadow Line to make the BMW M Performance X3 and X4 models even darker. The gloss black kidney grille, carbon side mirrors and tailgate spoiler mentioned here are part of the vehicle’s marketing package.

As an added visual bonus, the Frozen Edition features M sports brakes in high-gloss red. Other cosmetic modifications include tinted windows and two-tone 21-inch alloy wheels for the dynamic duo from BMW Australia. The interior features red stitching on black Vernasca leather. This is the first time the X3 has been available in this configuration in Australia.

Carbon fibre interior trim and M brand seat belts in the three iconic colours adorn both M40i Frozen Edition vehicles. Red stitching on the Sensatec instrument panel is a first for the AU-spec X3. A 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, heated front seats and a panoramic glass sunroof are standard features.

In addition to the motorised tailgate and two 12.3-inch screens, the Frozen Edition comes with a surround-view camera as standard. Other features include a head-up display, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a wireless smartphone charging station for customers. A keyless entry/start system and a three-zone navigation system are also part of the extensive standard equipment. The turbocharged inline-six remains unchanged, however, so the sporty crossovers share the same engine. The 3.0-litre unit produces 382 hp and 500 Nm of torque with 8-speed automatic transmission for the xDrive. The non-M model reaches a speed of 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds, which is not bad for a non-M model at this speed.
