Official images reveal a prototype wrapped in striking M-themed camouflage, giving us a glimpse of the car’s bold design. The electric M3, likely entering production in 2027, will share its DNA with the Vision Neue Klasse concept, showcasing compact proportions, short overhangs, and a refined aesthetic. Notably, the controversial grille design of the current M3 is replaced with a sleeker, integrated look that merges seamlessly with the headlights.
The electric M3 also features pop-up door handles, enhanced braking systems, a lowered suspension, and a subtle trunk spoiler, indicating its focus on high-performance driving. Inside, BMW hints at a simplified, tech-forward cabin inspired by the Vision Neue Klasse. Expect a massive touchscreen and an innovative head-up display stretching across the dashboard, replacing much of the traditional switchgear.
Under the hood—or rather, under the floor—this electric M3 is unlikely to debut with the extreme power figures teased for future models. Instead, it will deliver a balanced performance that bridges its electric capabilities with the M division’s driving dynamics. While horsepower figures remain under wraps, it’s expected to offer significantly more power than its gas-powered counterparts without pushing the limits of practicality.
