The new Porsche Panamera Turbo is unbelievably fast and very comfortable, like true luxury sports car. However, does it really excel in both speed an comfort when compared with other cars in its class? The BMW M6 Gran Coupe and Mercedes-AMG S63 Coupe are serious contenders too. Check out this video:
This test by Autocar is very practical and quite funny because as they put the cars to the test, they also had a passenger at the back to test if the conditions are also acceptable to the passengers. This is very important when choosing a luxury car in real life, but is seldom done in reviews.
Even funnier is that the passenger is asked to draw a picture during the hustle around the track. The rule of the game is that whichever car gets the fastest lap time while also providing a decently clear drawing wins. Now that’s interesting!
In the end, the Porsche Panamera Turbo took the win. It finished the course in 36.95 seconds and the passenger was able to draw a picture of a penguin that’s quite clear. It also has a deployable rear wing, if that’s what you’re into. The BMW M6 Gran Coupe was in second place both in time and drawing. However, the Merc was more comfortable and luxurious while the M6 is sportier. The decision will ultimately be on the hands of the customer.
