The current generation of the BMW 3 Series, F30, is not that old, but it’s seriously outdated. The competition, including the Audi A4, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, and Jaguar XE has gotten better and it’s about time BMW comes out with an updated version.
We now finally know that the brand new 3er will be revealed in 2019. The car is being built on the new CLAR architecture thanks to which it will weight around 80 kg less than the current-gen. It’s going to get a bit smaller, 1.5-liter turbo-triple diesel engine with a 1.6-liter three-pot diesel as an option. The new M340i will naturally get a stronger engine. Some rumors even state that we can expect the G20 3 Series to have a 90 kWh battery with a range of nearly 500 km.
