As a part of a video series released by BMW about concept cars, here is a run through of the BMW Vision Next 100 which previews the ideas that BMW has for the next years. This is BMW’s take on making cars of the future more intelligent. Adrian van Hooydonk, Senior Vice President BMW Group Design, explains the ideas behind the concept on this video.
When BMW was developing the BMW VISION NEXT 100, the main goal was to create a vehicle that is designed to meet all the needs of the driver. The idea is that in the future, it will be very important for drivers to feel that they bought a car that was built for them. It ended up being highly personalized and futuristic because of this idea.
The designers looked in to the future for the design of the BMW VISION NEXT 100. All the trends and technological developments they think would be relevant to the drivers in the future were included. But fret not, the car is very much BMW. The identity of the automaker from their innovations and designs of the past is still used as an inspiration.
One of the most important elements of the Vision Vehicle is the Alive Geometry. It is a three-dimensional sculpture that works both inside and outside the vehicle and adapts to the need of the driver. This is definitely one of the most exciting concept cars to date.
