Speed and acceleration are the two most important factors when it comes telling if a vehicle is a performance car or not. To test that, Autobahn is the perfect place to go to. In this video, AutoTopNL tries to find out if the BMW i8 or the Tesla Model S in Ludicrous mode is better. Which one did accelerate faster to the the top speed? Find out here:

The Model S P90 D is powered by an all-electric drivetrain delivering 469 horsepower in standard form and 539 horsepower in the Ludicrous mode. It achieves 0 to 60 mph in 3.3 seconds or 3.0 seconds with the extra power. The top speed is limited to 145 mph.

The BMW i8 hybrid sportscar on the other hand is powered by an electric and combustion-powered engine with a combined total power output of 362 horsepower. The standard sprint comes in at 4.4 seconds. The top speed is also limited to 145 mph.
