BMW France only unveiled the new X1 in two shades of blue last week for this compact crossover’s local debut. And now the new images appear from the Czech branch. Dressed in Utah Orange, this baby X model brings a fresh addition to the colour palette. This new colour set also comes as part of the U11 generation. In terms of its trim level, the xLine sits in the vehicle’s hierarchy above the base model. But it also comes below the M Sport model.

This new X1 model, which also carries Czech license plates, was made to the xDrive23d specification. This makes it the top all-wheel-drive diesel variant. It boasts silver body details and optional 19-inch (867) alloy wheels with a two-tone design. It also comes with a rough style unique to the xLine taste. The smallest X model features adaptive LED headlights, as with almost all press images we’ve seen thus far.
Although it won’t break any crossover speed records at the Nürburgring, the xDrive23d’s performance is more than sufficient for most X1 buyers. With 211 horsepower and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) available, the turbodiesel 2.0-litre engine can reach a top speed of 140 mph (225 km/h) in 7.4 seconds.
The 48V mild hybrid diesel engine only functions with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Some buyers want a sportier crossover with the great fuel economy and torque delivery of a diesel engine. For this reason, BMW also furnishes the X1 xDrive23d with adaptive M suspension and sport-tuned steering for an extra fee.
The introduction of the first M Performance model, the M35i, in 2023 will undoubtedly result in the expansion of the X1 family. A less expensive replacement for the dual-motor xDrive30 should be an iX1 with the sDrive nameplate and front-wheel drive. These will expand the lineup, which already consists of many plug-in hybrid, gasoline and diesel vehicles.
