[VIDEO] BMW X1 Review: Is it the Top Bavarian SUV?

It is simple to understand why the BMW X1 is one of the most sought-after Bimmers currently on the market. It’s affordable for most middle-class people and small enough to still be entertaining. It is also roomy enough to serve as a helpful family transporter. This new X1 is the most attractive X1 yet and is entirely new. But is it really the best SUV produced by BMW?

We get to see the BMW X1 xDrive23i (28i in U.S.-spec) M Sport in this brand-new Autogefühl video. It boasts a lot of power and an M Sport suspension. Lastly, it also features the M Sport styling, making it likely the ideal X1 model. So it’s the X1 version that looks the nicest and is probably the most enjoyable. But with outstanding vehicles like the X3 M40i, isn’t it insufficient to make it the best SUV in the BMW lineup?

There is a case to be made for the X1 as BMW’s hotshot utility vehicle when the price is considered. It’s shockingly roomy, to start. Despite its compact outward dimensions, BMW has done a fantastic job maximizing the packaging of its front-wheel-drive architecture. Consequently, there is plenty of room in the trunk, and all passengers have spacious headroom and knee room in the back.

Unexpectedly, driving is a lot of pleasure too. It steers remarkably sharply for a vehicle in its class and has superior direction-changing abilities than any of its rivals. Even though it’s a relatively low bar to pass, it’s not difficult to claim that the BMW X1 is the most enjoyable premium crossover. The powerful engine in the BMW X1 gives it the feel of a huge hot hatch, rather than just a family crossover.

However, if you want the paddle shifters solely, get the M Sport package. The X1 doesn’t come equipped with paddles; without them, there is no way to change gears manually. The shift lever has changed into a tiny toggle switch and no longer contains the traditional manual shift gate found on all other BMW automatics. Purchase the M Sport package if you want to shift gears independently.
