BMW X2 world debut happening in a few hours!

BMW Blog reports that the BMW X2 will have its world premiere in less than 24 hours! It will be unveiled online first and then a press debut the next day. It is exciting to know that the X family will have a new member unveiled soon!

The BMW X2 is based on the current on the second-generation BMW X1. It will be built using the BMW UKL architecture like the X1 and all new MINIs. Thus, it will be a front-wheel drive vehicle with the option of all-wheel drive.

In terms of looks, the X2 promises to be sportier and more aggressive than the X1 and much more exciting. The analogy is similar to what the X4 is to the X3 and the X6 to the X5. Knowing that the X1 is already very fun to drive, the expectations for the X2 are even higher. People expect it to perform well and be fun to drive.

Typical BMW turbocharged three and four-cylinder engines will be available. In Europe, there will likely be a 1.5 liter three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine and a 2.0 liter diesel. The new B48 turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine will be on the top of the line model. Base cars in Europe could see a six-speed manual gearbox as standard with the Aisin-sourced eight-speed auto as an option. The latter will be standard on higher trim models and likely in the US.
