A BMW X3 M (F97) prototype was spotted for the very first time during a testing session in BMW M-GmbH’s test facility in Garching, close to Munich.
The first ever BMW X3 M (F97) model is currently in the works. It is expected to be out on 2018, right after the upcoming new X3 (G01) generation car is also introduced to the market. The BMW X4 M (F98) based on the next X4 (G02) model is also expected to join the X3 M.
Looking at these spy photos, this F97 prototype shows a lot of M characteristics. Compared to the snapshots of the standard G01 X3 so far, this one clearly sets itself out. It’s already showing bigger air intakes, aggressive bumper, side skirts, roof spoiler, rear diffuser, M brakes and quad exhaust positioned at the center.
BMW is looking to expand and build up the X line up. This is a natural progression after the success of the BMW X5 M and X6 M models. The fans are left wanting more, and BMW is not the type that dislikes pleasing the enthusiasts.
