BMW X5 Security Plus at GPEC 2016 in Leipzig

The 2016 General Police Equipment Exhibition & Conference (GPEC) was held in Leipzig where BMW introduced the F15 X5 Security Plus armored car. The basis for this armored X5 is the third-generation X5. This is made to be used globally by customers who are very high profile and need extreme protection, while driving in style.

This vehicle is a tough nut to crack. The armored passenger compartment of the BMW X5 Security Plus complies with resistance class 6 and protects the four occupants even against automatic weapons like the AK-47, the world’s most popular assault rifle. It is covered in a safety glazing that not only keeps bullets out of the cabin, but also protects reliably against specific bludgeoning to smash the panes. A polycarbonate coating protects the occupants from possible splinters.

The suspension, braking system and the electronic stability program DSC were naturally adapted to the specific requirements of the armored BMW X5.

The BMW X5 Security Plus looks like an ordinary X5 but is is truly just hinding under a camouflage.
