The BMW Z4 has been overlooked for some time. For instance, the Munich manufacturer hopes to attract more attention to its exquisite roadster for 2023 by making minor cosmetic changes and providing new choices. More than 55,000 G29s have been purchased since its 2019 release, prompting this Life Cycle Impulse.
The Z4 sDrive30i in the United States now comes standard with the M Sport Package, which gives the car a sportier look. Larger honeycombs in the redesigned kidney grille for the MY2023 give the convertible’s front fascia a more aggressive aspect. The Z4 has three new metallic colours: Thundernight, Skyscraper Grey, and Portimao Blue.
M Shadowline Lights are new for the Z4 Cabrio’s headlights in 2023. They have adaptive LEDs and a dark design to match the body’s Extended Shadowline Trim. The Z4 is the first BMW to offer 19-inch M lightweight alloy wheels with a V-spoke design and jet black finish. Despite rumours to the contrary, the 2023 BMW Z4 will not use the company’s latest infotainment system, the iDrive 8. The interior remains largely unchanged, albeit synthetic leather is now an option for the sDrive30i’s dashboard (Sensatec). Standard M Sport Package includes redesigned bumpers, a leather-wrapped M steering wheel, M Sport seats, and upgraded pedals (with footrest).
Magna Steyr perseveres with a production of the tiny roadster in Graz, Austria using turbocharged four- and six-cylinder engines. BMW hasn’t specified whether the most powerful variant will have a clutch and manual transmission. Some suggests that a 6MT is in the works and will be introduced later in 2023. It’s worth noting that the updated Toyota Supra features a more potent engine and 6-speed manual transmission. Moreover, in late August, the Z4 M40i’s configurator revealed its manual transmission option on BMW’s regional website for The Netherlands.
