“The Escape” BMW Film makes World Premiere

There has been a lot of talk about the BMW Film entitled “The Escape” in the last months. Now, it finally makes its world premiere exclusively on BMWFilms.com.

The BMW Film is a masterpiece by Academy Award nominated director Neill Blomkamp who was famous for District 9 and Elysium, among others. Oscar nominated actor Clive Owen is the star of the film. The cast also includes Dakota Fanning, Jon Bernthal, and Oscar nominee Vera Farmiga.

The main car featured is the brand-new G30 BMW 540i M Sport. It is an interesting choice of car for BMW. In the teasers, we could have guessed they used the BMW M550i with the 4.4 liter twin-turbo V8. This was, after all, the top of the line.

However, BMW’s decision is likely driven by what a normal person can actually use as a getaway car. The lighter-nosed 540i combined with its brilliant B58 turbocharged I6 engine, would definitely handle better in these conditions. It also doesn’t hurt that the car looks damn good while doing so.

The story revolves around “Five”, a young girl played by Dakota Fanning. She is the subject of seemingly illegal experiments that the FBI wants to stop. Clive Owen was hired to rescue Five and this is where all the action happens. Check out some behind the scenes footage!
