Five-Star Safety Rating for 2016 BMW X5

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) gave a five-star rating to the new 2016 BMW X5.

The X5 got 5 stars in the front and side crash tests, and 4 stars in the rollover crash test. The model used for testing had a rear-wheel-drive and xDrive.

Some of the features of the new BMW X5 include:

  • stability and traction control
  • high-performance antilock brakes
  • hill-descent control
  • front side airbags
  • full-length side curtain airbags
  • active front head restraints

As for the optional features, the future owners can opt for the Driver Assistance Plus package that includes an active blind-spot monitoring, a camera system with side-view and top-view, and lane-departure warning.
